Knoll, John (8 NOV 1897 – 17 APR 1968)

Funeral services for John W. Knoll, 79, Abbotsford, who died Wednesday, April 17, 1968, at Memorial Hospital, Medford, were held Saturday at the Polnaszek Funeral Home at Abbotsford. The Rev. Joseph Jeide of Peace Evangelical United Church of Christ, Dorchester, conduted the services at 2:30. Mrs. Jerome Rankl was the organist and accompanist for Mrs. Frank Rauscher and Mrs. Orlean Pope, who sang "What a Friend We have in Jesus" and "Good Night, Good Morning."

Interment was made in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery, north. The pallbearers were Paul Tischendorf of Dorchester, Wallace Engel, Clifford Peche, Gay Graffunder of Medford, James Buss and De Lyle Singstock of Abbotsford.

Mr. Knoll was born at Sheboygan Falls, November 8, 1897, and came to the Abbotsford area as a child. He received his education in the town of Holton schools and lived in the area all of his life.

His marriage to Nellie Shepherd took place at Medford December 9 1924. They lived in Medford for about 22 years and came to Abbotsford about 10 years ago.

Mr. Knoll was employed at Hurd Mills at Medford until about five and one-half weeks ago, when he entered Memorial Hospital, where his death occurred.

He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Russel (Dorothy) Anderson, Medford, Mrs. Arthur (Shirley) Langteau; Mrs. Joseph (Evelyn) Courchaine of Abbotsford; and Mrs. Marvin (Lovalice) Tischendorf, Dorchester; a son, Delbert Knoll, Minneapolis; a half-sister, Mrs. Minnie Hanke, Plymouth; 25 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister and a half-brother and two half-sisters.

Relatives and friends attending the funeral came from Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Muskego, Fond du Lac, Wausau, Athens, Greenwood, Medford, Stetsonville, Dorchester, Colby, Abbotsford, and vicinity.
