Goodman, William D. “Dave” (17 August 1953 - 17 April 2016) With Flag

William D. “Dave” Goodman, 62, passed away at his home in Thorp, WI, on Sunday, April 17, 2016. He was born on August 17, 1953, in Pine Bluff, AR, the son of the late E. K. Goodman and Bernice (Sharp) Goodman Laminack.

Dave graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1971. After high school, he served three years in the U.S. Army. Upon his discharge, he attended the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science. He then worked his way through college at Southern Arkansas University as a Funeral Director. After graduating with a degree in biology/chemistry he continued his education at the University of Tennessee where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.

Dave began his dental practice in Magnolia, AR. and later moved to Tucson, AZ. In 1997, he moved to Wisconsin where he worked at Wisconsin Bench and Ace Ethanol until his health no longer allowed him to work.

Baseball, fishing and football were favorites throughout his life. Even as a child, he was a Packer fan. He coached several Little League, Babe Ruth and American Legion teams. He also enjoyed gardening and watching the birds that came to the many feeders he had in the yard.

Dave is survived by his loving partner and soul-mate, Deb Wadzinski, Thorp; one son, Aaron Goodman, Monroe, LA; sister, Gracie (Vonnie) Clark, Rison, AR; sister-in-law, Sandra Goodman, Grapevine, AR; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, E. K. and Bernice: one son, Caian Goodman; his brother, Billy Ray Goodman Sr.; and one nephew Billy Ray Goodman, Jr.

A celebration of Dave’s life will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 1 - 4 p.m. at Cindy’s Hall in Thorp.

Thorp Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
