Wiebe, Evelyn (1916 – 22 NOV 1960)

Evelyn Strommen was born in Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1916, the daughter of Mrs. Martin Strommen. She attended Greenwood High School and the University of Wisconsin from 1934 to 1938.

In 1938 she was married at Ashland to James H. Wiebe. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid.

Mrs. Wiebe passed away at a Madison hospital on Tuesday afternoon, November 22, 1960, after a long illness.

Funeral services were held on Friday, November 25, 1960, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison. Burial was made in a Madison Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, four sons, James Jr., a student at Luther College, Decorah, Iowa; Roger, 312 Wisconsin Ave.; Don and Robert at home' two daughters, Elizabeth, also a student at Luther College, and Cheryl at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.A. Strommen, Spooner; three brothers, Arthur, Spooner; Gilman in California; Howard, Green Bay; three sisters, Mrs. Conrad (Mabel( Leafblad, Iron River; Mrs. E.H. McKnight, Madison; Mrs. Oliver (Hazel) Holmes, Verona; and 2 grandchildren.
