Zawadzki, Edwin "Ed" C. Sr. (17 SEP 1925 - 7 APR 2016)

Edwin "Ed" C. Zawadzki, Sr., age 90, of Owen, passed away on April 7, 2016 at Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center in Owen.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. Father Janusz Kowalski will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in the Town of Hixon with Military Honors provided by the Lublin American Legion Post #547, Owen American Legion Post #123 and Owen-Withee Vets Club.

Family and friends are welcome from 10:00 AM until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ed was born on September 17, 1925, the son of Edward and Regina Zawadzki in Chicago, IL.

He served in the U. S. Coast Guard from July 1943 until March 1946. After his service, Ed returned to Greenwood to help on the farm. Ed was united in marriage to Dorothy Cieslik on September 17, 1958 and continued to farm in Greenwood. In 1966, they moved to Milwaukee and he worked for Rexnard Inc. for 25 years. After Ed retired, the couple moved back to Owen in 1987. He has resided at the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center for the past five years.

Ed enjoyed woodworking, painting, gardening and fishing.

Ed is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy; his brother, Eugene (Carolyn) Zawadzki; sisters-in-law, Suzanne (Gerald) McHugh, Irene (Randall) Ryll and Judy Cieslek; brother-in-law, Robert (Faye) Cieslek; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Edwin, Jr.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Martha Cieslek.
