The Rev. Gene W. Carlson will served the Greenwood, Christie and Withee Methodist Churches.

The Carlson family includes Rev. Gene Carlson, Mrs. Rhadora Carlson, Denise and David.

Mrs. Rhadora Carlson was born at Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Cliff. At an early age Dorie moved with her family to Washburn, Wisconsin, where she later graduated from Ondossagen High School. Dorie loves to sew and has taken many evening courses in this fine art. She is active in the WSCS work of the church and gives many hours of work and time to making it a better community in which to live.

Denis is the blonde in the family and she has a lot of fun enjoying her new home and neighborhood. Denise is looking forward to the opening of school, as she will be in fourth grade and is nine years old.

David will be in second grade, and he is seven years of age. He enjoys such a number of things and hopes to find many friends in this new town.

Rev. Gene Carlson was born and raised at Ashland, Wisconsin. He was graduated from Ashland High School; served in World War II, and is a Veteran of the Asia Pacific Theater. Pastor Carlson was graduated from Northland College at Ashland. He attended Garret Biblical Institute on the Northwester Campus at Evanston, Ill., and later transferred to the Dubuque Theological Seminary, of the University of Dubuque, from where he was graduated in 1956.

The Rev. Carlson has served pastorates in Esmond, Ill. for three years, while attending school, and then was moved to Viola, Wisconsin for three eyars. Following his graduation from Seminary, he was appointed to the Jim Falls Parish,, where he served for four years. This year Gene was appointed to the Greenwood Parish by his good friend, Bishop H. Clifford Northcott, Bishop of the West Wisconsin Conference of the Methodist Church.

The Carlson family loves to go tenting together and have visited many interesting places. They have tented from the West Coast to the East Coast, and from Mexico to the far reaches of Canada; and they believe that this is a sood form of recreation in that the whole family can share in these varied experiences.
