Pischel, Joyce J. (11 OCT 1933 – 5 APR 2016)

Joyce J. Pischel, 82, Marshfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 5, 2016, at Bethel Nursing Home in Arpin, with her family in close attendance. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, April 9, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield. Rev. Sam Martin officiated. She was laid to rest at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield after the services with her seven grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Joyce Joan Prust was born on Oct. 11, 1933, in Marshfield, to William and Freida (nee Breseman) Prust. She spent her entire life growing up and raising a family in Marshfield. After growing up across the street from and graduating from the old Marshfield Senior High, she married Hubert Pischel, on June 7, 1952, at St. John’s Church in Marshfield. Together they raised five children and watched 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren grow. In her younger years, Joyce enjoyed going up to her brother’s cabin, dancing, and roller skating, and later, boating or snowmobiling with the family, and traveling across the country and to Germany on vacations, taking tons of pictures at every opportunity. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and reminiscing with friends from around central Wisconsin. While raising her children, Joyce also worked at different times for Weyerhaeuser, Amex Aluminum, Johnson Garment and House of Heating as administrative assistants.

She is survived by her husband, Hubert; her sister, Elaine Panzer of Marshfield; her sister-in-law, Virginia Prust of Marshfield; her children: Betty (Dennis) Kowalski of Mukwonago, John (Cheryl) Pischel of Marshfield, Linda (Bob) Milonczyk of Stratford, Bryan (Sandi) Pischel of Marshfield, and Patty (John Baumann) of Edgar; her grandchildren: Jamie Frome, Kevin Kowalski, Bobbie-Jean Joecks, Joshua Schwantes, Allisa Milonczyk, Valerie Kirsch, Christopher Platz, Travis Pischel, Elizabeth Pischel, Paul Zarnke, Christopher Zarnke, and Ashley Zarnke; and 18 great-grandchildren: Brooke, Jessica, Samantha, and Gregg Joecks, Kaia Kowalski, Sienna Frome, Mikayla, Brayden and Molly Schwantes, Gavin, Dillon, and Kendyl Kirsch, Trenton and Allison Platz, Kamden and Kalei Zarnke, and Emily and Kylie Zarnke.

Joyce was pre-deceased by her parents; four brothers: Ken, Norbert, Gene and Valmore “Butch” Prust; and her sister, Marge (Prust) Pilsner.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bethel Center and Ministry Hospice for the care and consideration they showed Joyce in her last months. Her final days were peaceful and comfortable, in a large part, from your attention.
