Glinski, Arlene M. (15 APR 1930 – 30 MAR 2016)

Arlene M. Glinski, 84, Stratford, died on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care, Marshfield.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery at a later date.

Arlene was born on April 15, 1931 in Neillsville to Adolph and Marie (Boldt) Meier and was a 1949 graduate of Neillsville High School. As a young lady she moved to Marshfield where she worked as a waitress. It was then that she met her future husband. She and Richard "Dick" Glinski were united in Marriage on February 3, 1951 in Neillsville. He died on July 2, 2013.

Arlene and her husband acquired a business from Dick's father, Louis, and began Glinski's (Dick's) Bar in March Rapids where they operated a tavern, restaurant, grocery store and gas station successfully for 55 years. While running the business together Dick also operated a refrigeration business and Arlene raised 7 children.

Arlene enjoyed gardening, reading cookbooks and cooking. She also enjoyed her dogs and cats and going to the casino. Arlene enjoyed traveling and fishing with Dick. Their "once in a lifetime" trip was to Germany in 1975.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Lois) Gliniski of Marshfield, Patrick (Alice) Glinski of Neillsville, Thomas (Karen Gehler) Glinski of Spencer, Mary (Al) Radke of Stratford, Joann (Bob Genrich) Glinski of Wausau, James (Monica) Glinski of Stratford, and Daniel (Jeanne) Glinski of Proctor, MN. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother, Wayne (Maureen) Meier of Neillsville and in-laws, LeRoy Wellner of Marshfield, James and Lois Glinski of Wisconsin Rapids, Karlene and Terry Durst of Marshfield and Donald and Shelly Glinski of Eau Claire.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her favorite dog, Sassy.

Memorials may be designated in Arlene's name to the Clark County Humane Society.
