Claire Ardeen Hebert was born on October 26, 1931 in the Town of Brighton, the daughter of Earl and Bertha (Neumann) Cramer. She attended the Town of Brighton country school. Claire tagged along with her sister to guitar lessons where she met Leonard Hebert. He became the love of her life and they married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer on December 27, 1950.

Claire was a dedicated wife and mother endlessly devoted to her family. Years later she began working for the Spencer Public School in the food service department, first as a food server, then later as a cook providing countless students with a good hot meal. Claire retired from her work in 1996. Claire and Leonard had resided in the Spencer area until recently moving to Marshfield. She treasured time spent with family and friends and continued an active social life while fighting a tough 19 year battle with cancer. Claire especially enjoyed morning breakfast at the Patio Restaurant, wishing everyone “a good day”. She also looked forward to Friday pampering at the Cut Loose Hair Salon. She took pride in housekeeping and cooking delicious meals. She loved taking care of her numerous canine friends (Pepper, Bambi, Brandi, Molly, Oreo and Lucy) through the years. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards with friends, listening good old country music and spending time at the family cabin on Pier Lake. Claire was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since her baptism in 1931.

She is survived by her husband Leonard Hebert of Marshfield and her daughter Judith (Michael) Huber of Edgar; two granddaughters, Holly (Jamie) Dehlinger of Stratford and Alanna (Jeremy) Aschebrook of Marshfield; as well as two step grandchildren, Benjamin Vehrs and Keisha (Jason Bethke) Vehrs. She is further survived by her great grandchildren; Noah, Makenna Claire, Danika and Gavin; step great grandchildren, AJ, Derek, Dilan and Ava and her beloved puppy companions Oreo and Lucy along with other relatives and many friends.

Claire was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Cheryl Vehrs, a sister Vernice Beyreis and a brother Arvid Cramer.

If desired, the family is accepting memorials in Claire’s name for charities to be determined at a later time.
