Brunner, Irene A. (Balciar) (20 MAR 1926 - 1 MAY 2011)

Irene A. Brunner, age 85, of 831 S. 8th Street, Medford, died Sunday, May 1 at Deerview Meadows Assisted Living, Medford where she had resided for the past 3 months most recently under the care of Hope Hospice. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Nicole, Cory, Travis and Troy Brunner, Travis and Nick Carroll, Tim and Tiahna Lewer.

Interment of her cremated remains will take place at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II.

Irene was born on March 20, 1926, at the Township of Holway, to John and Adella (Valent)
Balciar.

She attended Township of Holway elementary school, Medford High School.

On August 16, 1947, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Medford, she married Raymond E. Brunner. He preceded her in death December 26, 2006.

Prior to her marriage, she clerked at the Medford Co-op in downtown Medford. After their marriage, she worked as a housewife and mother along with doing bookkeeping work for Brunner Shell Service Station. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, bowling, snowmobiling, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Medford; Medford VFW Auxiliary.

Irene is survived by her children, Bruce (Linda) Brunner of Medford; Brian (Barbara) Brunner of Kent, WA; Loni (Dean) Carroll of Westboro; 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; siblings, Walter (Margaret) Balciar, of Medford; Ken (Joyce) Balciar, of Medford.

She is predeceased by her parents, John and Adella (Valent) Balciar; grandson Ryan Brunner in 1994; sibilings, Ernest “Emil” and Richard “Dick” Balciar.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to either: Hope Hospice, Deerview Meadows Assisted Living or St. Paul’s Church building fund.
