Dorine was born on April 7, 1930, in the Township of Green Grove, WI the daughter of Walter and Edna (Borchert) Laabs. She attended Woodland school and graduated from Owen High School in May of 1948.

On September 25, 1948 she married the love of her life, Donald "Bud" Poppe at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Green Grove. They were happily married for 67 years.

Once married she stayed home and raised their five children. She entered the work force in 1967, where she worked for the State Bank of Withee, for many years. Over the next ten years she worked for the State Bank of Withee, in Greenwood until her real retirement.

Dorine was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed being a member of the Adventure Club, Alter Guild and Ladies Aide. She loved watching many different sports especially the Owen-Withee Blackhawk, Packer, Badger, and Brewer teams. She was a sharp card player; crazy eight, poker, and 500 were a few of her favorites. She loved to bake for her family. Each recipe was a favorite of all her family members. Throughout her life her family was her pride and joy. She taught each one of us the meaning of true love and how family always came first.
