Simerson, Pearl (11 FEB 1876 – 22(?) SEP 1959)

Pearl Hogue, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hogue, was born in Greenwood (Clark Co.), Wisconsin on February 11, 1876 and received her education in the Greenwood public schools.

On February 23, 1894 she was united in marriage with William Simerson at Marshfield. After their marriage they settled in Perkinstown, where Mr. Simerson was camp foreman in lumber camps, and about 1906 they moved to Medford, where he was employed as Wood Superintendent of the Gibson Lumber Company.

Mrs. Simerson, who has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Merl York at Chicago for the past seven years, passed away there.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 1959, at the Ruesch Funeral Home at Medford, Wisconsin. Rev. Gordon Welch officiated. The Order of Eastern Star, of which she was a member, took part in the rites.

Mrs. Simerson is survived by a son, Edward D. Simerson, and a daughter, Mrs. Merl (Bernice) York both of Chicago; a brother, Oscar Hogue of Portland, Oregon; three sisters, Mrs. John (Nellie) Buhite and Miss Della Mae Hogue, Portland, Oregon, and Mrs. Owen (Estella) O'Connor, Rathburn, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter and two brothers, Harry and William Hogue of Greenwood.
