Janesville Settlement (30 Jan 1919)

Mr. and Mrs. F. Hatton spent Monday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Keefe.

Fred Kalkofen is making cheese at the Tioga factory for the cheese maker there, who was away on account of sickness.

Last Sunday Joseph Buettner made a business trip to Augusta, Fairchild, and Humbird in his car. Joseph is getting his contracts for tie timber all filled and will soon set up his mill.

Mrs. Henry Dimler and children, who have been visiting at the Lou Dimler home in the Susa and Dimler settlement, left for their home in Marshfield Thursday.

Mr. Wenzel called at F. Pulk’s on Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. F. Hatton spent Friday evening at the D. Moorehead home.

Mr. and Mrs. S.B. Flagg and daughter, Marion, and Mrs. C. Hatton and son, Donald, spent Sunday afternoon at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Flagg.

Inez Clintsman spent Sunday with her parents at Globe.

Mrs. Dillenbeck and son, Roger, spent Sunday afternoon at the F. Hatton home.

Chas. Churkey helped Ed. Keefe haul hay several days last week.

Helen Farning spent Sunday afternoon with Juanita Halle.

Joseph Buettner was a business caller at Humbird Monday.

Mrs. D. Moorehead entertained the following Sunday for dinner in honor of her son, David, who returned from the Hancock Training Camp last week: Mrs. Potter and family, Mrs. McCanna and family; Mr. Christianson of Eaton Center, Fred Halle and Evan Hatton of Janesville Settlement. We are all very glad that we have David back again and hope to get J.S. livened up once more.

Mrs. Chas. Halle and daughter spent Sunday at the Julius Halle home.

Genevieve Borgers and Gertrude Davey of West Eaton called at M.M. Bahl’s Sunday afternoon for a short time.

Carl Olson was a business caller at Hugo Halle’s Sunday afternoon.

Mrs. A. Flagg and Mrs. Chas. Bostwick spent Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Keefe.

Evan Hatton helped Roger Dillenbeck saw down some trees Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Stafford returned from Janesville last week, bringing Mr. Stafford’s father with them. He is feeling better at this writing, but Mrs. Stafford’s father is still very sick. We are all sorry to hear of the illness of these old men.
