Zettler, David (16 MAR 1956 - 17 FEB 2016)

David Zettler, 59, Athens died Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was born March 16, 1956 in Wausau, son of the late Alton and Marjorie (Wozniak) Zettler.

On April 11, 1981 he married Linda Bartelt at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Rib Lake. She survives.

David worked at Alton Zettler, Inc., Athens, Northwest International, Abbotsford, County Materials, Marathon and Central Wisconsin Body and Hoist, Wausau until his health forced him to retire.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and watching western movies. Dave loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his great cooking skills and his delicious smoked meats. Dave had the ability to fix almost anything and he will be remembered for his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone, anytime, anywhere.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Zettler, Athens, two daughters, Nicolle (Micah) Boswell, Conway, AR, Amber (Andy Ledesma) Rich, Aurora, IL, two honorary daughters, Amie (Alan) Conley, Simi Valley, CA, Michelle Zettler, Holcombe and one son, Travis (Susan Zoromski) Zettler, Athens, five grandchildren, Apphia Boswell, George Boswell, Ava Zettler, Ellie Conley and Mia Conley, his siblings, Marlene (Melvin) Carter, Colby, Doris (Jim) Bollech, Athens, Susan (Dom) Dominowski, Appleton, Carol (Keith) Myers, Tigerton and Lori (Jeff) Haines, Athens, Tony (Shirley) Zettler, Edgar, Dale (Jan) Zettler, Marshfield and Gene (Kathy) Zettler, New Richmond and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Wilfred Zettler. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens. The Rev. Mark Schwalenberg will officiate.

Friends may call on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or School.
