Gotter, Ferdinand (23 JUN 1889 – 9 AUG 1970)

Ferdinand E. Gotter, 81, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), died on Sunday, Aug. 9, 1970, in the Memorial Hospital at Neillsville.

His funeral was held on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 1970 at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal. Rev. William Humlie officiated at the ceremony, and burial took place in the Lutheran Cemetery.

Mr. Gotter was born on June 23, 1889 in Potter, Wis. He moved to Granton in 1900 with his parents and lived there until his marriage in 1912, Jan. 16. He was married to the former Theresa Lautenbach at Neillsville. They lived in several communities in Wisconsin, where he was employed as a cheesemaker for 38 years. They then moved to Loyal in 1943.

Ferdinand Gotter was a Loyal Alderman from 1951 – 1952 and 1962-1964. He was a past president of the Trinity Lutheran Church and was a member of that church in Loyal.

Surviving him are a son, Romaine of Milwaukee; a son-in-law, Harlan Helms of Spencer; two sisters, Mrs. Lenora Schuelke of Cobb and Mrs. William Foote of Granton, and one brother, Arno Gotter of Granton, and two grandchildren, and his wife.

Preceding him in death were two sisters, three brothers and a daughter.
