Witzke, Anna (26 JUL 1883 – 28 DEC 1967)

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran Church, town of Wien (Marathon Co., Wis.), for Mrs. Anna Witzke, 84, route 1, Edgar, who died Thursday morning at her home following a lingering illness.

The funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Schroeder officiating, and burial was made in the parish cemetery.

The Lulloff Funeral Home of Colby was in charge of the arrangements.

The former Anna Drachenberg was born in Russia July 26, 1883. After coming to this country, she resided in the town of Frankfort and the town of Wien. She was married Nov. 10, 1901, to Ludwig Mielke, who died Dec. 20, 1921. Her marriage to Edward Witzke took place Jan. 3, 1925.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by eight children, Mrs. August (Theresa) Kunkel of Stratford, Otto Mielke of Colby, Hulda Wolff of Colby, Mrs. Edwin (Ida) Nickels of Engadin, Mich., Carl Mielke of Edgar, Mrs. Elmer (Anna) Bessler of Colby, Hugo Mielke, Colby, and Edward Mielke, Edgar. There are 23 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.

One son preceded her in death, and three sisters and six brothers are also deceased.
