Halbrader, Dorothy A. (2 MAR 1927 – 20 SEP 2015)

Dorothy A. Halbrader, age 88, of Willard, WI, passed away at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, in Marshfield, on Sunday, September 20, 2015. Funeral services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, in Willard, on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 11 a.m, with Rev. Steve Brice officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Auburndale. Visitation will be held at the church, on Thursday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Dorothy A. Baltus was born on March 2, 1927 in Pittsville, WI, the daughter of Elmer and Emma (Bloomer) Baltus. She was raised on the family farm and received her education at West Cary Grade School. Dorothy was united in marriage to Victor Halbrader on September 3, 1946, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Bakerville, WI. They moved to Willard, WI, where they farmed and raised many foster children. They later divorced. Dorothy also worked at St. Joseph's Hospital, in Marshfield, for several years. She resided in Willard until moving to Marshfield in 2010.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, and was very active in the Willard 4-H Club and the Merry Homemakers Club for more than 60 years. She had many interests, but especially loved fishing, playing cards, dice, cooking and baking.

Dorothy is survived by one sister, Evelyn (Robert) Wojcik of Arpin; three sisters-in-law, Bernadine Baltus of Marshfield; Virginia Baltus of Nekoosa; Jeanette Baltus of Wisconsin Rapids; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Victor, on May 28, 2000; and eight brothers, Sylvester, Arnold, Floyd, Kenneth, Rueben, James, Lyle and Orville Baltus.
