Boyer, Milton Dale (16 APR 1955 – 31 AUG 2015)

Milton Dale Boyer, 60, Chili ended his courageous 18 month battle with cancer with his loving wife and family at his side at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield on Monday, August 31, 2015.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home with family and friends welcome at 10:00am until time of service. The visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 8, 2015.

Milton was born on April 16, 1955 in Turtle Lake, North Dakota to Audrey and Wally Boyer. They moved to Wisconsin 2 years later and resided in Chili, WI. He attended Marshfield Senior High School. He was united in marriage to Kathy M. Doescher on September 6, 1975.

Milton worked for Weyerhaeuser for 10 years. He had a brief stint on the railroad, followed by auto body work for 10 years where he owned his own shop "Milt's Auto Body" outside Spencer, WI. He then did flooring for 10 years followed by construction and maintenance. He was one of the hardest workers we know. Milt worked hard and played hard to make up for it.

Milt loved restoring motorcycles and antique tractors and had the ability to fix anything. His daughters and wife will be lost without his "fix it" skills. He loved spending time with family, friends and especially "rough housing" with his grandchildren. Him and Kathy did everything together. They were best friends and celebrate 40 years of marriage this month.

Milt lit up the room with his smile and sense of humor. He was friends with everybody. The community will miss his presence as he enjoyed cruising around in his Cushman and motorcycles over the years. Milt or "Milty" as most people called him, lived a short life, but lived it to the fullest. His spirit will be deeply missed by many friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy and their 2 daughters, Nikki (Don) Lang and Corie (Jason) Schmitt. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren whom he deeply adored and it tore him apart that he wouldn't be able to see them grow up. Tessah, Taiya, Tevyn Lang and Kaylee and Keegan Schmitt. Grandpa assured he will always be by their side. He is further survived by 2 sisters Deb (Denny) Steltenpohl, Pam (Phil) Schlagenhaft and 2 brothers David (Barb) Boyer and Dixon (Kathy) Boyer.

He was predeceased by his parents Audrey and Wally Boyer.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. Reding and his oncology team along with Dr. Claussens and his palliative care/home hospice team. We are eternally grateful for their care in extending his life as long as they could.
