Mravik, Valentine S. (30 JAN 1929 - 15 AUG 2015)

Valentine S. Mravik, age 86, of South Milwaukee, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 15 at home surrounded by loved ones, with the help of Vitas Hospice. Visitation preceded the Mass of Christian Burial at Divine Mercy Parish in South Milwaukee.

An additional visitation will take place at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Gilman on Saturday, Aug. 22 from 9 to 11 a.m.

Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Lublin.
Plombon Funeral Service-Gilman is assisting the family.

He was born on January 30, 1929, in Lublin, the son of the late John and Louise (Cervenansky) Mravik. He attended Lublin area schools and took some classes at MATC.

On August 8, 1953, he was united in marriage to Rosella Webster at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin. After their marriage, they farmed on the Mravik home farm in Lublin and later moved to South Milwaukee. Val worked as a machinist at Perfex until his retirement in 1992.

Besides his love for his family, he enjoyed hunting and bowling. Val’s passion was in his woodworking of which he made numerous lighted Christmas trees, quilt racks and folding drying racks for his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rosella of South Milwaukee; their children, Dale (Linda) Mravik of Lublin, Delbert (Diana) Mravik and Sylvia (Cary) Fischer, both of South Milwaukee, Rodene (Michael) Bulley of Adamstown, Md., Bonnie (Carl) Onesti of Luxemburg and Kathern (Scott Winter) Mravik of Franklin; 25 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; a brother, Emil of Portage; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Mravik of Gilman and Elaine Mravik of Medford; also godchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Valentine was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, David Mravik; and 11 brothers and sisters.
