Mezich, Valeria “Valerie” V. (Edelburg) (28 OCT 1916 - 28 AUG 2015)

Valeria “Valerie” V. Mezich, age: 89, current resident of Stevens Point former resident of Rib Lake, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield where she had been a patient for the past 2 ½ weeks.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Hemer Funeral Home in Rib Lake, Fr. Otto Bucher officiating and interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Rib Lake, following the service. Pallbearers are Frank Laskowski, Joe Mertens, Matt Mezich, Dick Richveis and Doug Steele.

Visitation will be at 11:00 A.M. until time of services at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Hemer Funeral Home in Rib Lake.

Valerie was born April 6, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois, to Arthur C. and Clara C. (Schultz) Edelburg.

She attended Milwaukee Area Schools and graduated from Stevens Point High School, Valerie married Louis J. Mezich, on January 18, 1949 in Waukegan, Illinois. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1983

After her marriage, they moved to Burlington for a period of time before moving to Rib Lake in 1972. In 1993, she moved to Plover where she resided until her death. Valerie enjoyed traveling, gardening, shopping, cooking, spending time with her family and friends and was an avid doll collector. She is a former member of St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover.

Valerie is survived by daughter Linda (Fiance: Frank Laskowski) Mezich, Stevens Point, JoAnn (Joe) Mertens, Medford, John (Significant Other: Chris Bopp) Mezich, Plover and Ron (Vicki) Mezich, Tallahassee, FL. She is also survived by grandchildren Deanna, Matt, Michael, Katherine, Joey and Jacob; and 5 great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her parents Arthur C. and Clara C. (Schultz) Edelburg, and brothers Robert and Clifford Edelburg.
