Hoernke, Harold E. (4 MAY 1920 - 4 JAN 2006)

Harold E. Hoernke, 85, F1582 County Road N, Edgar, died Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

He was born May 4, 1920 in the town of Frankfort, son of the late William and Louise (Punke) Hoernke. On May 22, 1941 Harold married Elfrieda Theilig in Athens. She survives.

Harold was a union carpenter for over 20 years and also farmed in the town of Frankfort until his retirement. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and loved watching old westerns. Harold always enjoyed a good game of cards and he never passed on the opportunity to take a trip to the casino.

Survivors besides his wife Elfrieda Hoernke, Edgar, include his children, Sandy (Allen) Grell, Stratford, Kenny (Mary) Hoernke, Tomahawk, Ginny Hoernke, Edgar, Cheri (Kim) Krueger, Weston and Darryl Hoernke, Edgar, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three sisters, Hertha Werner, Edgar, Alma (Delly) Denzine, Milan and Irma (Bud) Hackel, Abbotsford.

Besides his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his grandson, Tim Hoernke. Memorial services will be 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2006 at St. John Lutheran Church, County Highway N, town of Wein. The Rev. Jeff Tarras will officiate. Friends may call on Friday from 5 p.m. until the time of services all at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences at www.petersonkraemer.com
