Heindl, Alice Elizabeth (Riegert) (16 SEP 1916 - 20 JUL 2015)

Alice Elizabeth Heindl, 98, Medford, died at her residence, July 20, 2015, at 6:20 pm, under the care of Hope Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, July 24, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford, with Fr. Phil Juza officiating. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Stetsonville. Visitation will be held Friday July 24, at 10:30 am, until the time of mass at noon at Holy Rosary. Her nieces and nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.

Alice was born on September 16, 1916, in the Town of Deer Creek to Allen and Louise (Vogt) Riegert. She completed the 8th grade at Pleasant Valley School in the Town of Deer Creek.

She married Eugene John Heindl, on June 11, 1946, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville. He preceded her in death on December 27, 1960.

Alice loved her flower gardens and birdwatching. He had a love for animals, especially dogs. She was employed as a ward clerk for Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home, retiring from there in 1986. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews and had a huge heart for children.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers George (Mary) Riegert and Clarence (Helen) Riegert; sisters Frances (Ferdinand) Brandner and Helen (Frank) Hollman; long time friend Claire Zenner; and nephews Melvin and Norbert Brander and James Hollman.

Memorial donations in honor of Alice may be made to Hope Hospice or Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
