Hasz, Lois J. (18 MAR 1927 – 22 JUN 2015)

Lois J. Hasz, 88, of rural Granton entered the eternal embrace of her loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday morning, June 22, 2015.

Lois was born March 18, 1927 to Charles and Doris (Davis) Schwanebeck in the Town of Sherwood, WI in Clark County.

At St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sherwood, Lois was born again through the waters of Holy Baptism and later was confirmed in the Lutheran faith - a faith that sustained her throughout her life. Lois was a 1945 graduate of Neillsville High School.

On May 1, 1948 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Lois married the love of her life, Albert H. Hasz after which she farmed with Albert until August 1991. Together Lois and Albert had four boys and were married for 60 years.

Lois loved her rural upbringing and life with Albert on the farm and they made many, many happy memories working together and raising their family on the farm. She loved being around and caring for the farm animals and especially loved cooking for her family and was known as a superb cook and baker.

Throughout her life, Lois loved vegetable gardening, tending her many flower beds as well as preserving much of the produce from her garden and passed many of these skills on to her children and grandchildren. Lois also loved sewing and especially sewing "crazy" quilts for Lutheran World Relief.

After retiring from farming with Albert, Lois used her skills and creativity as a baker to craft and sell outstanding wedding cakes and was loved for her skills at making special themed birthday cakes for her grandchildren and others. Lois also became cook and an active member of the Granton Rotary Club where she earned the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship award for service to her community.

Lois was an active member in her local church congregation, Zion Lutheran Church in the Ladies Aid and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Lois was also a lifetime member of the Granton FFA Alumni, as well as a member of the Granton Rotary Club and Senior Citizens organizations. She and Albert were also life time members of the Southern Clark County Sportsman's Club and Lois loved to play cards at the Clubhouse, now the Granton Community Center.

Lois is survived by her children: Roger (Dawn) Hasz of Granton, Leroy (Marcia) Hasz of Chili, Thomas (Theresa) Hasz of Granton, and Darryl (Justine) Hasz of Wisconsin Rapids, grandchildren: Christopher (Stacey) Hasz, Melissa (Nate) Hilliard, Patricia Hasz, Nathaniel Hasz, Justin Hasz, Erin Hasz, Taylor Hasz, Matthew (Shelly) Hasz, Brandon Hasz, Hannah Hasz, great-grandchild, Emmalin Hasz, and sister, Joyce (Herb) Ziebart

Lois is preceded in death by husband, Albert, parents Charles and Doris, sister Nona and brothers Ivan and Wayne.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday June 26, 2015 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, W2880 Granton Road, Granton. Pastor Daniel Schoessow will officiate. Providing music will be Caroline Helm, organist. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 E. Veterans Parkway, Marshfield and from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at church on Friday. Interment will be in Zion Evangelical Lutheran cemetery in Granton.

Casket bearers will be her grandchildren.

The Hasz Family thanks the nurses, doctors and staff at the Palliative Care Unit of St. Joseph's Hospital for their care during Lois' short stay there.
