Smithrud, Conrad (10 AUG 1929 – FEB 1968)

Funeral services for Conrad Smithrud, 38, town of Taft, were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Medford, and burial was in Meadowbrook Cemetery at Gilman. The Rev. John Speerstra conducted the services. The Lublin Legion Post was in charge of the military rites.

Mr. Smithrud was born in the town of Taft Aug. 10, 1919, and had lived in that area all his life, attending school in Gilman. He operated a farm in the town of Taft. He was married to Harriet Schroeder at Cadott on June 20, 1956.

Surviving him are his wife, four sons, Conrad, Christian, Donald and Daniel, two daughters, Avis and Christina Marie, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Smithrud Sr.; four brothers, Iva Smithrud, Gilman; Einar Smithrud, Minneapolis; Arnie and Christian Smithrud, Forest Grove, Ore.; and a sister, Mrs. Ralph Anderson, Michigan City, Ind.
