Hillert, Lydia (3 August 1886 - 9 November 1973)

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home for a former county resident, Mrs. Lydia Hillert, 87, of Appleton, who died there November 9. The Rev. H. P. Hilgendorf of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Appleton, officiated and burial was made in the Town of Grant Cemetery.

Mrs. Hillert, the daughter of Carl and Martha (Riedel) Worchel, was born August 3, 1886. In the Town of Grant and was educated in area schools. She was employed in Milwaukee for eight years. Her marriage to Edward Hillert took place November 6, 1913, at Granton. The couple farmed in Clark County and also lived in Greenwood for several years while he worked for a lumber company. After her husband’s death which occurred July 5, 1963, she moved to Appleton to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Mrs. Hillert, who was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, had resided in Appleton since 1964.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Evelyn) Burroughs of Appleton.
