Elmer Haselow joined his brother from Chili and attended the Cotter hardware show in Chicago from Tuesday to Friday of last week.

On Tuesday and Wednesday of last week Mrs. Elmer Haselow, brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Weaver of Dwight, Ill., visited at the Haselow home.

Mr. and Mrs. John Habighorst of Columbus arrived May 14 for the fishing opening and Mrs. Habighorst and children, Tom and Peter, remained for a two week visit at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Czeshinski at the Robert Habighorst home.

Debra and Amy Haselow are visiting at the home of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Habighorst.

Charles Haselow of Eau Claire, employed with U.S. Rubber Company, has been transferred by the company to Indianapolis where he will work in the Industrial Division of U.S. Rubber. The Haselows now residing in Augusta, plan to move there after Mrs. Haselow completes her teaching duties on June 4.

David Wilson left Thursday, May 19 for his return to Bergstrom Air Force Base after enjoying a leave at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mickie Wilson.

Tauno Ranta returned home Monday after spending the winter in the arctic.

A good attendance enjoyed the spring concert put on by Mrs. Miller and her choruses and glee clubs Thursday night, May 19 at the Owen-Withee school auditorium.

A number of area students have bee reported to the Enterprise office as graduating from universities in the near future: Jerry Melbinger from School of Dentistry at Marquette, Milwaukee; Bab Haselow from University of Wisconsin, Madison; Nancy Karow and Sherrie Amacher, Wis. State University at Stevens Point; Lind Budgrin from Ripon; Jonathon J. Miller, University of Wisconsin, Madison; Donna Harrington, Wis. State University of Eau Claire; Patricia Ann Phillips Wis. State University at River Falls; and John Sutter, Wis. State University at Oshkosh.

Saturday of last week Dave Mayo returned to his home north of the city after spending the past six months with his daughter and son-in-law in Turlock, Calif.

Mr. and Mrs. John Lesneski visited at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Arlyn Mills, at Chippewa Falls on Sunday.

Robert Missling was dismissed Saturday from St. Joseph's Hospital at Marshfield where he had been confined since May 7, when he suffered head and shoulder injuries sustained in an automobile accident which took place at the west city limist of Owen. Sunday he returned to his studies at Wis. State University at River Falls, where he is a senior student.

Thursday afternoon and Friday Herb Utteck and his two sons, Jack and Jim, enjoyed a fishing outing in the vicinity of Park Falls and Butternut.

Emil Niemi of Lake Worth, Fla., has been ehre since Wednesday of last week visiting friends in the Owen & Withee area. Sunday he will leave for Rochester, Minn., where he will undergo a physical checkup.

A long Memorial Day weekend camp out is being planned by several Owen families of W.J. Mahoney Jr., Clark Coulliard, Ernest Gay, Dennis Halverson, Eddie Lehnen, Jack Burke and Bob Bredlau will be joined at Hatfield by Gus Bell, a former vocational training instructor in Owen school system and three other families from Eau Claire. Next week's story should be quite interesting.

Mrs. Henry Mauel Sr. held high score for bridge last Thursday evening at the home o fMrs. Richard Allen. Mrs. Allen held second high score and Mrs. John Gummerson third high.

Delmar Anderson and Bob Buskirk enjoyed Tuesday and Wednesday of last week fishing on Lake Superior. The got a few nice fish but had to work hard for them.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Allen attended the graduation exercise at Stratford Sunday afternoon, May 22. Their niece, Rae Ann Santo, was a member of the graduating class.

A pleasant day of fishing was spent by Tom Nelson Tex Becker on Lake Chetek last Saturday. When the two returned home Tom displayed a nice 22 inch Walleyed pike.

Saturday Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Barager, daughter Barby and son Jack, drove to Madison, where they attended the Crew races between the Universities of Wisconsin, Kansas State and Wayne University of Detroit, Mich. The Badgers won all three races – varsity, JV's and freshman. Their son, Jim, pulled stroke in the freshman shell, breaking away with a length lead at 1,000 meters, and won going away by 2 1/2 lengths. They were clocked at 6:48 for the one and one-fourth course, compared to Kansas State's time of 6:58.5. The varsity shell beat out Kansas State and Wayne with a time of 6:42.

Arthur Jensen of Grand Forks, N.D. and Richard Reinertson of Chicago were weekend guests at the home of Mrs. Earl Reinertson and Pat.
