W.K. Doonan returned home Monday afternoon after being in St. Paul since Friday, where he enjoyed a visit at the home of close friends, Dr. and Mrs. Ed Nelson.

Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Dickinson of Menomonee Falls were weekend guests here at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nick LePage, and with his relatives and parents at Withee.

Over the weekend Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Jarchow were accompanied to Lake Geneva by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Jarchow of Rib Lake, where they attended the 25th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Knopp.

Mrs. Julianne Freitag returned to her employment in Lake Bluff, Ill., on Monday, after having enjoyed a visit at her home with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. William King, since last Thursday.

Mrs. John Gummerson received word Monday of this week of the death of her brother, Math Mauer, who passed away very suddenly at his home in Nevada City, Calif. He was 68 years of age and a former resident of Chippewa Falls.

Visiting one day last week at the Myrle Haralson home and with Mrs. Haralson at the Clark County Hospital were Mr. and Mrs. Vern Wickham of Wis. Rapids, and Ella Merrill of Alma Center. Other recent visitors were a sister of Mrs. Haralson's, Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord Hauger of Beloit. Mrs. Haralson shows some improvement and appreciates mail call when she hears from friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Grimes drove to Clear Lake Sunday visiting with friends, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Clark.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Zielinski took their son Ronald to Minneapolis Wednesday, April 13. There he boarded a non stop jet for Seattle, Wash., where he began his 18 month tour of duty with the United States Coast Guard. From Seattle he was flown to Kodiak, Alaska, and from there to St. Paul Island in the Bering Sea, where he boarded the Coast Guard Cutter "Storis" for his tour of duty.

Attending guests night at Stanley Eastern Star chapter Monday, April 18 were Mrs. Art Wolfram and Mrs. George Shattuck.

Mrs. Earl Reinartson, Mrs. Nina Cattanach, Mrs. Donald Hawks, Mrs. Sabin Scherf, worthy matron, of Owen Eastern Star chapter, and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Jessen of Neillsville, attended guests night at Abbotsford last Thursday, April 21.

Mrs. Nina Cattanach, accompanied by Mrs. Anna Sorenson, drove to Marshfield Sunday, where they attended the 95th birthday celebration of a cousin of the late Walt Cattanach, Mrs. Anna Thiel.

Members of the Owen Eastern Start chapter who attended the invitational Tuesday night of this week were Mrs. Sabin Scherf, Mrs. Earl Reinartson, Mrs. Nina Cattanach and Mrs. Victor Jessen.
