Tioga (26 Sep 1918)

The monthly meeting of the Tioga Ladies Aid was held with Mrs. John Schwamb Thursday, September 5th, the proceeds, $5.50, was given to the Red Cross.

Mrs. John Seif donated blocks for a quilt and material to set them together to the Tioga Red Cross.

Mrs. George Harrison and little son of Ashland are visiting at the S.C. Wightman home. Mr. Wightman is her uncle. Her husband is a physician and is in France with the medical corps.

Delia Church returned Monday evening after spending a week with Mr. and Mrs. Wightman at Columbia.

Vera Slover of Chili came Monday evening to spend a few weeks with friends and relatives here.

R.D. Ingham moved his family to Willard Monday, and is moving his stock of merchandise as fast as possible.

W.E. Palms went to Minneapolis Thursday to meet his wife, who has been visiting relatives in North Dakota. They returned Saturday morning.

Lulu Bedell and Vera Slover spent Sunday with Mrs. Linster near Neillsville.

Word was received here Friday that George Campbell of Willard, a former Tioga blacksmith, is seriously ill in a hospital at Eau Claire.

W.A. Bedell drove top Willard Thursday.

Mrs. E.P. McCune and daughter, Marie, drove to Neillsville Friday.

Mrs. Hans Hoganson was on the sick list last week.
