Salisbury, Joseph Travis (October 4, 1994 - 29 April 2015)

Joseph T. Salisbury, 20, of Marshfield passed away April 29, 2015, as a result of a moped accident.

Joseph Travis Salisbury was born Oct. 4, 1994, in Marshfield, the son of Amanda McDonald and Jesse Salisbury. He attended school in Neillsville and was working towards a diploma in Marshfield. Joey has been employed at Custom Fabricating and Repair in Marshfield.

Joey is survived by his mother, Amanda (Jerry) Schmidt of Loyal; his father, Jesse (Tanya) Kirshbaum of Marshfield; his brother, Jacob Schmidt; and his step-brothers: Chad (Carissa) Schmidt and Corey Schmidt. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Sandra McDonald of Neillsville and Larry (Eldray) McDonald of Neillsville; his paternal grandmother, Jenny Gereau of Neillsville; step-brothers Cody, Levi, Jordan and Gabriel; along with several aunts, uncles cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James Salisbury of Neillsville.

Joey could make anyone laugh with his crazy actions and jokes, but he also had a quiet side. He was kind, respectful and caring. He loved playing video games with his brother, Jacob, who thought the world of him, and he loved to hang out with all his friends.

There are many family members and friends who were close to Joey and loved him dearly. While he was growing up, Joey had a special connection with his cousins, Brandon, Danielle, Kodty and Samantha McDonald. He is not thought of as a cousin to these four young adults; he is thought of as a brother. He was also close to his other cousins, Zack, Tabitha, Levi, Kealee, Bea, Eric, Shyla and Jada.

Funeral services for Joey were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pastor Patsy Roe officiated.

Online condolences may be made at www.geschefh.com.  The Gesche Funeral Home assisted Joey’s family with funeral arrangements.
