Frey, William Henry (14 DEC 1878 – 22 DEC 1965)

William Henry Frey, a resident of the Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) area since 1917, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1965, succumbing to the effects of a heart condition which had bothered him for the past several months. He was 87 years of age, being born Dec. 14, 1878 at Elgin, Ill.

Funeral services were conducted at two o’clock Friday, Dec. 24 from the Alliance Church, City, with Rev. S. Gunther of Eau Claire in charge. His remains were laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery.

Called upon to serve as pallbearers were Rudy Potocnik, Joe Adams, Art Karrow, Art Johnson, Ray Dearth and C.E. beck.

On Dec. 2, 1903 he and the late Emma Zetlow were united in marriage at a ceremony performed at Juda, Wis. In 1917 the couple settled on a farm in the town of Hoard (Clark Co.), where they farmed until their retirement in 1950, when they moved to Owen. In 1959 his wife preceded him in death, and since that time he had made his home with his son, Harold.

Survivors include a brother, Theodore of Lake Geneva; three sisters, Mrs. Luella Kasck, Genoa, Ill.; Mrs. Melinda Johnson, Rockford, Ill.; and Mrs. Elsie Frey, Elgin, Ill.; two sons, Harold of route 2, Owen; and Elmer on route 5, Eau Claire; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
