Christman, Irene A. (26 JUN 1965)

A marriage which took place Saturday, June 26, 1965 at 10:30 a.m. in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at Owen, with the Rev. Hubert L. Crubel officiating, untied Miss Irene L. Christman of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) and Lars Larson of Wausau. Their parents are Claire C. Christman of Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Larson, Ft. Atkinson.

Pink and white peonies and fernery decorated the church altar as the bride was given in marriage by her father. Miss Christman wore a floor length dress of white crystal peau de soie. The simplicity of the molded bodice and bell skirt was highlighted by a detachable chapel train. Her veil was a bouffant four-tier and her bouquet, two large white roses.

Miss Laura Francel of Sturtevant was the maid of honor and Miss Ruth Larson of Owen, the bridesmaid. Their dresses were similar in style to the bride’s and in pastel pink crystal peau de soie. Each wore a matching headpiece and carried one long stemmed pink rose.

W.P. Cota, Wausau, served as best man in the groom’s party, and Donald Christman of Elkhorn was the groomsman. Leo Larson, Owen, and Edwin Jensen, Wausau, had charge of ushering the wedding guests.

Dinner in the church dining hall was served immediately following the nuptial High Mass, with a reception and dance later at the Meadowview County Club at Owen.

The bride is a 1964 graduate of Stout State University at Menomonie and has been a home economics teacher at Edgerton Senior High School. Her husband, a 1962 graduate of Wis. State University, La Crosse, will assume duties July 1 as a data processing manager for Marathon Company, and the couple will be making their home at 118 Lily Lane in Wausau. Mr. Larson was previously employed as an insurance adjustor.
