Ely, LaVonne I. (Harrison) (27 OCT 1923 - 17 MAR 2015)

LaVonne I. Ely, age 91, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Clark County Health Care Center in Owen.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, March 20, 2015 at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E. Veterans Parkway) in Marshfield. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the Funeral Home on Friday.

LaVonne was born October 27, 1923 to Frank and Evelyn (Chapman) Harrison in the town of Moundville. After graduating from High School she furthered her education by graduating from Stevens Point Normal School Teacher's College.

On Aug 3, 1944 LaVonne was united in marriage to Gordon Ely in Moundville, Wisconsin. LaVonne taught for a couple years but her priority was always being a mother and farm wife.

Mrs. Ely enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, and playing the Organ and Piano at church. She really enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Those that knew her best will miss her big heart, warm smile, and her love of hand written or typed correspondence.

LaVonne is lovingly survived by her children: Philip (Shirley) Ely, Shirley (Ronald) Lehr and Douglas (Susan) Ely; 8 grandchildren; as well as 13 great grandchildren (with one on the way). She is further survived by a brother: Stanley Harrison. She will truly be missed.

She is proceeded in death by her parents: Frank and Evelyn; husband: Gordon; as well as an infant son: Richard.
