Meyer, Cynthia Viola (14 June 1877 - 28 August 1973)

The Rev. Gary Clark of the united Church of Christ conducted private graveside rites Friday at the Neillsville City Cemetery for Mrs. Cynthia Viola Meyer, 96 of Memorial Home, who died August 28. The body of Mrs. Meyer was in state at the Georgas Funeral Home.

Mrs. Meyer, the daughter of Edwin O. and Mary Ellen (Waltenbaugh) Moore, was born June 14, 1877, in Fayette County, Ia., and was educated there. She taught school for a time. After her November 2, 1896 marriage at Volga city, Ia., to William J. Meyer, she and her husband farmed and operated a general store there. Mr. Meyer preceded her in death.

In 1925, Mrs. Meyer moved to Hawkins to live with her son, and then moved to Neillsville in 1929. She had been a resident of Memorial Home since 1996.

A son, Merrill L. (Slim) Meyer, Neillsville survives.
