Schlinsog, Kathryn Elizabeth (31 October 1925 - 24 January 2015)

Kathryn Schlinsog, 89, of Granton Died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Kathryn Elizabeth Neitzer was born Oct. 31, 1925, in Crivitz, the daughter of Joseph and Veronkia (Kiesler) Neitzer. She grew up in the Township of Silver Cliff in Marinette County. As a young girl, she first worked for her sister taking care of two young children and keeping house. Later, she moved to Milwaukee and lived with her sister and brother-in-law, Frank and Theresa Johnson. She got a job in a defense plant during WWII, where she made parts for the turret on tanks. In 1945, she moved with her sister and brother-in-law to Black River Falls; later they moved to a farm near Granton, where she worked until her marriage to Robert Schlinsog in 1947.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Joan Schlinsog of Granton; five nephews and seven nieces; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Arlyne Teuteberg of Hartland and Donna Lau of Potter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert ‘Bob;’ a son, Kip Schlinsog; a daughter, Betty Scheel; five sisters, four brothers, and two sisters-in-law.

Funeral services for Kathryn were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Granton, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Daniel Schoessow officiated. Music was provided by Caroline Helm, organist. Interment was in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Casketbearers were Michael Schlinsog, Clint Schlinsog, Robert Scheel, Jr., Jordon Schlinsog, Robert Neitzer and Richard Neitzer.
