Mrs. Dale Jollivette, chairman for the Greenwood U.S.O. campaign has reported a total of $231.50 collected in a house-to-house canvas. Solicitors were: Mrs. Roy Rasmussen, Mrs. James Metcalf, Mrs. Gary Engelbretson, Mrs. Tennes Navrestad, Mrs. Victor Diercks, Mrs. David McFarlane, Mrs. Leon Kuester, Mrs. Robert Faber, Mrs. Norman Mayenschein, Mrs. David Schroeder, Mrs. Ted Briski, Mrs. Floyd Pautz, and Mrs. John Kaltinger.

American Lutheran Church women met Thursday afternoon in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Mrs. Ralph Ystad presided. Mrs. Richard Braun gave devotions and was in charge of the worship offering. Following the meeting Joan Baltus gave a declamation entitled, “Animal Fables.” A lunch was served by Mrs. Earl Caliebe, Mrs. George Caliebe and Mrs. Gordon Christopherson. The next meeting will be a potluck picnic at Greenwood Park July 26, at 1:30 p.m.

A 67th birthday of Chester Schubert was celebrated July 1 at the Clark County Home for the Aged, where he resides.

Classmates of Todd Braun, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Braun, were entertained Saturday afternoon at Greenwood Park in honor of Todd’s ninth birthday. Games were played and a lunch was served.

Mrs. Lynn Ketchpaw of Chicago visited Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Abel.

Mr. and Mrs. David Friske entertained Sunday at their home in honor of the fourth birthday of their daughter, Kimberly. Guests were the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Friske and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rossow; also Mr. and Mrs. Norman Friske and daughter, Faye, and Jim Johnson of Whitehall; Dena and Darla Weber of Round lake Beach, Il.; Mr. and Mrs. Burt Wells and Sharon of Marshfield; Bernard Friske and Mr. and Mrs. Duane Olson and family.

Mr. and Mrs. James Koci and Mrs. Helen Hanson of Milwaukee visited last weekend with his mother, Mrs. Julia Koci, and at the home of his sister, Mrs. Francis Kohlnhofer and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Schwarze accompanied their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Schwarze, and daughters of Rochester, Mn, on a 10-day trip west. They went to New Castle, Wyo., where they were joined by Ewald’s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schwarze. From there they went to Yellowstone Park, to Lake Jenny in the Tetons and Nebraska, Iowa, and back to Rochester.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Keller took her sister, Mrs. Lela Alley of Murrow, Ohio, who had spent a week here, to Arcadia Sunday. Mrs. Alley and Mrs. Rowena Schultz of Arcadia left from there to visit the latter’s daughter, Mrs. Janet Anderson and family, in Walden, Colo., and with Mrs. Martha Lawalace in Mendota, Calif.

Mrs. Vincent Sowieja spent a week in West Allis at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Al Lindenburg. She also attended the wedding of her granddaughter, Linda Lindenburg and Steve Wallerman, held at West Allis June 30. Others from here who attended were: Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Sowieja and family; Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Sowieja and family and Mr. and Mrs. James Sowieja and family.

Sunday dinner and supper guests at the Henry Keller home were the Misses Agnes and Emma Siebold, and Mrs. Vilas Popp and daughters of Antigo; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schilling of Abbotsford; Mrs. Ida Saucermann and son, Sylvester, of Colby; William Keller of Stanley; and Henry Siebold of Willard.

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Jollivette and family returned Friday after visiting his brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. and Mrs. Norbert Jollivette, at Jewell, Ia., and at the house of her grandmother, Mrs. Minnie McKinstry in Chicago.

Mrs. Louise Beck and granddaughter, Tammy Beck, are visiting her daughter, Mrs. John Fox, and family at Willard. They plan to visit relatives in Pennsylvania before returning to Phoenix, Az. Tammy Beck was an overnight guest Thursday of Tammy Braun at the Richard Braun home.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Elmer of Milwaukee spent Saturday evening at the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Abel.

Mrs. Gary Rohde returned to River Falls Sunday after spending a week at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart. She was accompanied by her nieces and nephew, Linda Lou, Kimberly Kay, and Duane Decker, who will visit there.

Mr. and Mrs. James Rahm and family of Minneapolis were weekend visitors at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Merril Hare.

Mrs. Robert Stewart has been dismissed from Memorial Hospital in Neillsville.

Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Brux, Judith and Mark, were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Horton in La Crosse.

Mrs. Frank Moore and daughters, Sharon and Missy, of Wadena, were visitors Tuesday at the John Kaltinger home.

Mrs. Elmer Dehne of Holiday, Fla., spent Tuesday at the home of Mr and Mrs. Adolph Abel. Mrs. Dehne is the former Elsie Koziak of this area.
