Marty, Debra Kay (Marriage - 1973)

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Allan Brill, Jr., who were married June 23 at the United Church of Christ, will make their home in Wausau upon their return from a wedding trip to the Bahamas. The Rev. Melvin Nickel of the United Methodist Church officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony. The bride’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Marty of Rt. 1 Neillsville. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brill, Sr., Rt. 2 Withee, are the groom’s parents.

For her marriage, the former Miss Debra Kay Marty chose a gown of organza fashioned with venise ribbon trim. The period styling featured a high neckline, bishop sleeves, A-line skirt and flounce hemline. A matching mantilla completed her attire. She carried a bouquet of red roses and peppermint carnations accented with baby’s breath as she was given in marriage by her father.

Mrs. Connie Steinke, Janesville, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Michelle Petrole of Roselle, Il., and Miss Sharilyn Marty. The attendants’ print gowns were fashioned with pin k pinafores, high necklines and sheer nylon bishop sleeves. Matching picture hats completed their ensembles, which were accented with basket arrangements of pink carnations, white pompons, baby’s breath and green ferns.

Wayne Steinke, Janesville, served as bestman. Groomsmen were Gorden Myrah, Sun Prairie, and Larry Marty. Guests were seated by David Marty, Granton, and Neal Kent, Marshfield.

“The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” and “Somewhere” were sung by Julie Schmidt. Robert Wall was the accompanist.

The Neillsville American legion hall was the scene of a reception following the ceremony.

The bride was honored at a shower given by Sharilyn and Cathy Marty.

A 1971 graduate of Neillsville High School, the bride has been employed in a Neillsville r eta il store. Her husband graduated from Medford High School in 1961 and is employed as an auto damage investigator for a Milwaukee firm.
