------ Seidel, Marion (10 JUN 1967)

St. Bernard’s Catholic church, Abbotsford, was the scene of the marriage of Miss Marion Seidel of Abbotsford and James Blahnik of Spring Vally, Minn., with Father Emil Hodnik witnessing the exchange of vows on Saturday, June 10.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Seidel of Abbotsford and Mr. Blahnik’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Louis Blahnik of Spring Valley.

Mrs. Ed Brill of Colby and Mrs. Ed Scheeler of Cazenovia, sisters of the bride, and Mrs. Kenneth Seidel of Reedsburg, a sister-in-law, were the bridal attendants. The other attendants were Joseph Blahnik and Fran Blahnik; both of Spring Valley, brothers of the groom and Gerald Seidel, Marshfield, a brother of the bride.

The bride appeared in a shite floor length gown of linen and Venise lace with long sleeves and a batteau neckline. A band of Venise lace encircled the natural waistline, and Venise lace accented the linen floor length sheath skirt, with a detachable train. A bouffant triple tiered veil of silk bridal illusion was attached to an open pillbox of linen and Venise lace. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white carnations.

The bride’s attendants wore empire linen sheath gowns, each with a lime green bodice and a small watteau train over a yellow skirt, a batteau neckline, short sleeves, and lace around the empire waistline. Small veils billowed from a lime green floral headpiece and they each carried bouquets of yellow daisies.

A reception at the Abbotsford city hall was held after the ceremony with about 150 guests attending, and a dinner was served at 5 p.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic church. The evening was concluded with a dance at Cherokee hall.

The couple will make their home in Marshfield beginning in August, where the groom is employed as a teacher. The bride had been employed as a secretary.
