Plans have been drawn up for a new six alley bowling layout in Abbotsford. The building, now occupied by the Northwest Distributing Co., Inc., will soon be completely remodeled.

The tavern in the building, known as Duke’s, will be greatly enlarged. A complete set of new equipment will be installed. Construction is to being in the near future.

The Owen chapter of the Order of Eastern Star observed its 14th birthday anniversary, Monday evening.

After the regular meeting a musical program was presented, under the direction of Mrs. Arthur Wilson.

Refreshments were served at tables attractively decorated with Halloween figures and a two-tier birthday cake.

Those from Abbotsford who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hoffman and Mmes, Harry Treat, Lawrence Neitzel, George Barker, Wilbur Kuehnast, Al Strebe, J. A. Rilling and Alfred Scheel.

Abbotsford is observing Navy Day Saturday, together with the entire nation. Weather permitting; the flags will be flown in the business section.

The high school band will march at 10 o’clock and give a short concert in front of the armory.
