Schoop, Arlene Kay (24 Jun 1967)

The Kaneville Methodist church as the scene of a 7 p.m. wedding ceremony June 24 uniting Miss Arlene Kay Schoop and Wayne C. Hibbard, both of Rosemont, Ill., in matrimony.

Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Bennett Shoop of Elburn, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. Harlowe Hibbard of Colby.

Music during the ceremony was provided by Kenneth Schulz of Colby, who sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and “The Song of Ruth”.

Bridal attendants were Mrs. George Gambill of Maple Park, Ill., the matron of honor, as sister of the bride, and Mrs. David Van Sickle, Des Plaines, Ill., a friend, and Mrs. Kenneth Schulz of Colby, a sister-in-law of the bride, as bridesmaids.

Serving as best man was Dennis Cook, a friend of the groom.  Duane Romens, a friend, and Dal Schoop, brother of the bride, were groomsmen.

Ring bearers were two nephews of the bride, Brett and Brian Moore.  Performing the ushering duties were William Dethlefsen and Marvin Schnabel.

The bride chose a white modern floor length dress of imported silk organza trimmed with hand clipped Chantilly lace.  The empire style bodice featured pearl sprigs on lace, an A-line skirt, modified Sabrina neckline with elbow length pipestem lace sleeves.  A detachable lace edged chapel train completed the dress.  A forward headpiece of silk organza petals, touched with oriental pearls, held a triple tiered veil of imported silk illusion.

The bride carried a white orchid with lavender throat, surrounded by white carnations, Stephanotis and ivy.

For her attendants, the bride chose empire gowns of silk georgette over taffeta, with Josephine skirts and cap sleeves and there were trim rolled rosettes at the waistlines.  They carried cascade bouquets of tinted carnations to match their dresses.

Following the ceremony, a reception for about 150 guest was held in the basement of the church.

Following a wedding trip to Nassau in the Bahama Islands, the couple will be at home at 1501 Cottonwood Lane, Mt. Prospect, Ill.  The bride had been employed by United Airlines and the groom by Trans World Airlines.
