Streckert, Silvia E. (Moolin) (21 JUL 1922 - 6 SEP 2014)

Silvia E. Streckert, 92, Medford, died on Saturday, Sept. 6 at Country Gardens Assisted Living in Medford, where she had resided the past year.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 11 a.m. at Woodland Community Church in Westboro, with Rev. David Clements officiating. Interment will be at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Pallbearers are Mark Streckert, Jonny Streckert, Dick Angelo, Pat Petkau, Brent Johnson and Roy Points.

Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Hemer Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.

The former Silvia Moolin was born on July 21, 1922 in Saskatchewan, Canada, to the late John E. and Sophia (Johanssen) Moolin. She was raised on a farm in Chamberry, Saskatchewan, and later lived in Victoria, British Columbia. She received a teaching diploma and a four-year certificate in missions from Western Canadian Bible Institute in 1952. She worked at the treasury office of the Canadian Department of National Health and Welfare.

She emigrated to the United States in 1955 to serve in the office of Youth Gospel Crusade located in Wheaton, Ill. In 1958, she moved with the ministry to what is now Camp Forest Springs/Forest Springs Camp and Conference Center in Ogema.

On November 11, 1967 at the Baptist church in Ogema, she married Ernest H. Streckert, who preceded her in death on September 4, 1986. She served with the ministry in several capacities until 1968. She helped her husband with his machinery building businesses, E & S Manufacturing in Medford, then ESCO of Rib Lake, until his death in 1986.

She was a member of Woodland Community Church where she enjoyed supporting various missionaries. She also volunteered her time at Camp Forest Springs from 1968 until her last years.

Survivors include three step-sons, Tom (Sondra) Streckert of Colby, David Streckert of Abbotsford and Jerrold Streckert of Reading, Mass.; a brother-in-law, Allan Parliament of Calgary, Canada; three step-grandchildren, Mark (Cindy) Streckert, Cristina Streckert and Elizabeth (Ken Tojima) Streckert; five step-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five siblings, Myrtle and Albert Moolin in infancy, Martha White, Alice Parliament and John Edgar Moolin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her name to the Chair Fund at Woodland Community Church.
