Ringle, Kenneth Ray (14 NOV 1937 - 19 AUG 2014)

Kenneth Ray Ringle, 76, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was born November 14, 1937, in Wausau, son of the late Elmer and Alma (Winkert) Ringle. He graduated from Edgar High School in 1955 and from the Madison Area Technical College. Ken honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1961 until 1963 and was a member of the American Legion Alois Dreikosen Post No. 469, Marathon. On November 28, 1964, he married Gisela Szymczyk at Bethel Lutheran Church, Madison.

He worked as a civil engineer technician in the airport division at Becher-Hoppe Associates, Inc. for 37 years. Ken was a Packer fan and followed his kids’ and grandkids’ high school sports careers, attending countless games and events. He enjoyed carpentry, gardening and reading and also traveled extensively with his wife, Gisela, and family across the United States as well as Europe.

Survivors include his wife, Gisela; children, Jeffrey and Sandra (Leonard); grandchildren, MacKenzie and Kennedy; brother, Robert (Patricia); sisters, Bessie Foster and Delores Harder.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer; and a sister, Frieda Werner.

Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at St. Stephen Evangelical Lutheran Church, Edgar. Rev. LaDonna Ekern presided. Burial was in the Edgar Cemetery. Friends called Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service, all at St. Stephen Evangelical Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Aspirus Wausau Hospital for their kind, compassionate care of Ken.
