Funeral services for Francis Michael Sellung, route 1, Colby, were held Saturday, Oct. 22, at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Colby. The Rev. John B. Pinion officiated, and burial was in the parish cemetery. Mr. Sellung died at his home in the town of Hull late Wednesday, afternoon, Oct. 19. He was 89 years old. Funeral arrangements were handled by Lulloff Funeral Home.

Born at Hilbert on Oct. 13, 1877, Francis Sellung came to the town of Frankfort, Marathon county, as a young boy. His marriage to Ina Kripean took place March 19, 1907. Following their marriage, they lived in Canada for eight years, then in Montana for 10 years. From 1924 to 1927 they farmed in the town of Hull after which they moved to Milwaukee where Mr. Sellung worked from 1927 to 1951. They returned to the town of Hull in 1951. Mrs. Sellung died in 1960. Mr. Sellung was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic church and its Holy Name society.

Surviving are five daughters; Mrs. Eugene (Anna) Podevels, Colby, Mrs. Webster (Marie) Godlenske of Fernley, Nev., Mrs. Raymond (Lena) Jahnke, route 2, Marshfield, Mrs. Theodore (Margaret) Grammer, route 1, Colby, and Mrs. Leroy (Alice) Lord, Colorado Springs, Colo.; 25 grand children; 41 great grand children and two sisters, Mrs. Joe (Augusta) Schilling, Abbotsford, and Mrs. Nick (Anna) Stockhauser, Milwaukee. He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, two brothers and one sister.
