Neillsville News (6 August 2014)

In mid-July, Pastor Doug and Sharon Bjerke hosted a family gathering at Schuster Park. They celebrated daughter Becky Koci’s 50th birthday and son Mark and Anni Bjerke’s 25th wedding anniversary. Becky and her husband, Dave, live in Cuba, MO, and Mark and Anni live in Eau Claire. They enjoyed a pleasant afternoon together with friends and relatives. Schuster Park shelter and new restrooms made a very convenient setting for their event.

Later in July, Sharon Bjerke with granddaughter, Ava Bjerke, traveled to Walnut Grove, MN, to observe the Laura Ingalls Wilder pageant. A number of the original actors and actresses were present for autographs and interviews. The pageant took place on an outdoor stage with the use of the natural setting. The audience sat in chairs set up on a hillside with the production starting at dusk, and as the night progressed, millions of stars were visible.

Sunday, Ava and Sharon traveled to Lake Lillian, MN for the Flann family reunion.

Richard and Patricia Schleifer and Arianna and Delaney Rochester spent last week Monday in Green Bay visiting their daughter, Carla Jo and family. They helped granddaughter Addysen celebrate her fifth birthday. They also sang “Happy Birthday” to Delaney, who turned nine years old Sunday, Aug. 3. Richard and Patricia Schleifer visited Richard’s brother Russell Saturday in Melrose and helped put a deck on his new house.
