Dodte, Clarice H. (11 June 1888 - 20 October 1972)

Funeral services for a Clark County native, Miss Clarice H. Dodte, 84, of Memorial Home, who died October 20, were held Monday, October 23, at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. Frank Mutchler of the Loyal Free Methodist Church officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Miss Dodte, the daughter of Carl and Wilhelmina (Pohle) Dodte, was born June 11, 188, in Clark County and was educated in Neillsville schools, graduating from Neillsville High School in 1906. She attended teachers’ college at Stevens Point, taught school, and was employed by the county superintendent of schools as well as by County Judge Oscar Schoengarth. Miss Dodte made her home with her brother in Washington for several years and returned to Neillsville after his death. She had resided at Memorial Home since January of 1969.

A brother, Bernard Dodte of Neillsville, survives.

Pallbearers were Darrel Raine, Robert Ratsch, Glen Haines, Otto Dux, Ben Dux and Calvin Mills. Miss Marilyn Galstad was the organist.

Those from out of town who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Dodte of Seattle, Wash., Justice and Mrs. Bruce Beilfuss of Madison, Mr. and Mrs. Rollie Smith of Altoona, Mrs. Glenn Mills, Mrs. Ben Clouse and Mrs. Ed Ploman of Loyal and Mr. and Mrs. Everett Kauffman of Chili.
