Grotjahn, Orville E. (15 JAN 1936 – 23 JUN 2014)

Orville Edwin Grotjahn, 78, formerly of Loyal, died on Monday, June 23, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center in Cullman, Ala., of pancreatic and lung cancer.

He was born on Jan. 15, 1936, to Carlos N. Grotjahn and Leona E. Buckholz in Arcadia. He was an Army veteran and longtime resident of Loyal, where he was a dairy farmer. He relocated to the south where he was a long-haul driver.

He is survived by his sisters, Palma Hoge, Donna Ferguson, Carol Kriescher, and Alita Steinberg; his sons, Michael, Ricky, and Patrick Grotjahn; a daughter, Brenda Jiron; a step-son, Roger Sheppard; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary M. Grotjahn; a sister, Maxine Schultz, and a son, Roger Grotjahn.

The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or the American Cancer Society.
