Eisberner, Sarah Marie (4 September 1957 - 28 June 2014)

Sarah Marie Eisberner, 56, of Alma Center passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014, at her home, while under the care of Black River Memorial Hospice. She was born Sept. 4, 1957, in Black River Falls to Donald and Teresa (O’Leary) Eisberner.

She married Ricki R. Matti June 10, 1976, and they were later divorced. They had three daughters, Amanda Jo Reichenbach of Brainerd, MN; Karri Marie Matti of Arbor Vitae and Tracey Rae Matti-Forsting (Dustin) of Merrillan.

Throughout her career, she worked a short time at Heritage Nursing Home, attended WWTC for numerous medical training, and worked at Black River Memorial Hospital for 37½ years until her health caused her retirement.

In 2012, Sarah married her high school sweetheart, Rocky Walton. After many years of wondering what if, she decided to follow her heart, and they were both blessed to spend the remaining year and a-half together. Everything they did, they were together. Whether it was mowing their lawn that they took so much pride in, taking their hotrods out or spending time with their families, they were inseparable. Sarah felt that love conquered all. She taught her daughters to treat everyone equally, always be kind, love and fight for the things you believe in. Most of all she believed in good deeds and giving anything she had to help others. Her generosity was paid forward during her battle with cancer. She was overwhelmed with emotions by the magnanimity of her co-workers, doctors, nurses, friends, family and the community.

Sarah loved being outdoors gardening, picking berries and hunting. She was a wonderful cook, a kind soul and a giver of greatness.

None of us will ever forget “second floor, Sarah…”

“Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up.”

She is survived by her husband, Rocky, daughters, Amanda, Karri and Tracey; 9 grandchildren, Halee, Hayden, Jolee, Tyler, Kylee, Aurora, Bruce, Landen and Ava; step-grandchild, Kaylee; sisters, Christina (Terry) Collins and Kathleen (Henry) Harasimowicz; brothers, Marcus (Cathy) Eisberner; and Lucas Eisberner; and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Theresa; brother, Jonathon; and sister, D’Ann.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, July 3, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Family Worship Assembly of God Church, Black River Falls. Greg Mandigo will be officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.

Family and friends are invited for visitation Wednesday, July 2, 2014, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:45 p. m. at the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral home, Hixton. Family and friends are also invited for visitation Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
