Funeral services for Carl H. Prange, 79, Colby, were held Tuesday, April 12, at Zion Lutheran church, Colby.  The Rev. David Pankow officiated, and burial was in the Colby memorial cemetery.  Funeral arrangements were handled by Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.

Mr. Prange died Saturday morning, April 9, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elroy Augustine, Colby, where he and Mrs. Prange had been living during the winter months.

Carl Herman Prange was born Feb. 17, 1887 in Germany.  As a young man he served in the German army from 1907 to 1909, immigrating to the United States in 1910.  He worked as railroad construction worker in the United States and Canada for a number of years.  His marriage to the former Hermina Waak who survives, took place Dec. 17, 1921, at Owosso, Mich.  They came to Wisconsin in 1922 and settled on a farm in the town of Hull.  There they farmed until retiring in 1961.  Since then, they have lived in the farmhouse during the summer and with their daughter in Colby during the winter.  Mr. Prange was a member of the Zion Lutheran church, Colby.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Elroy (Hildegard) Augustine, Colby and Mrs. Robert (Ella) Staehley, Joliet, Ill.; two grand children, and two brothers, Otto of Racine and William of Ridgeland.  He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
