Polnaszek, Carol Jean (Marriage - 29 July 1972)

Two Eau Claire Technical Institute graduates, Miss Carol Jean Polnaszek and William A. Stasila, exchanged wedding vows Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thorp. The Rev. Francis Brockman officiated at the double-ring ceremony uniting the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Polnaszek of Thorp and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Casey Stasila of rural Thorp. A wedding supper and dance was held at St. Hedwig’s hall.

Alencon lace seeded with pearls outlined the Empire bodice and bishop sleeves of the bride’s candlelight Sata-peau gown. A slender, A-line skirt and cathedral train were also outlined with deep bands of lace and pearls. Her shoulder- length veil of cream silk illusion was caught to a cap of cut alencon and pearls. She carried a cascade of phalaenopsis orchids with stephanotis backed with fern and English ivy as she was given in marriage by her father.

Judy Quirk, Antigo, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Kenneth Malecki, sister of the groom, and Melani Polnaszek, sister of the bride. Their Empire-waist gowns of violet Dacron voile featured self-ruffle and satin ribbon trim. Large balls of Boston Fern with hot pink and variegated purple carnations were suspended from their wrists.

The bride’s brother, Chaz Polnaszek of Madison, served as bestman. Groomsmen were Kenneth Malecki, the groom’s brother-in-law, and Perry Polnaszek, brother of the bride. Serving as ushers were Leonard Butek and Thomas Bogumill.

Flower girls Eva Malecki and Heather Polnaszek wore gowns of flowered, flocked dotted Swiss and carried Edwardian nosegays.

Mrs. Ed Chaplinski and Justin Rosemeyer were the vocalists. The organist was Roger Truckey. Doreen Osowski played the trumpet.

The bride is employed at a Chippewa Falls hospital as a laboratory technician, and her husband is employed as a construction electrician. The couple will live in Eau Claire following their return from an extended auto trip.
