Fudala, Clara A. (2 December 1917 - 16 April 2014)

Clara A. Fudala, age 96, of Gilman, formerly of Thorp, passed away at the Clark County Health Care Center, in Owen, on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. There will be no services held.

Clara A. Zukowski was born on December 2, 1917, in Thorp, WI, the daughter of John and Katarzyna (Hoffman) Zukowski. She was raised on the family farm and received her education in the Thorp area. As a young woman, Clara moved to Minneapolis for a short time to work, and then to Chicago. It was in Chicago where she met and married Adam Fudala. The moved back to Gilman, WI in the late 1940’s and purchased a farm. They farmed for many years, until selling the farm due to Adam’s ill health. After selling the farm, they moved to Thorp, WI. Her husband, Adam, died on August 22, 1993. Clara remained in Thorp until moving back to the farm that her son, Gary, had acquired. She resided there until November 2013.

Clara had several interests, but especially enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking. She was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Gilman, and a former member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp.

She is survived by one son, Ron (Ruth) Fudala of Bloomington, MN; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Fudala of Howell, MI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Adam; one son, Gary on March 14, 2014; two brothers: Felix and Anthony “Sammy” Zukowski; and five sisters: Diane Bielecki, Veronica “Micki” Grabowski, Alice Cervenka, Dorothy Asselin and Frances Zukowski in infancy.
