Brooks, Virginia Ruth (Marriage - 25 March 1972)

Miss Virginia Ruth Brooks became the bride of Robert George Sanders Saturday, March 25, in a 2 p.m. ceremony performed at the Neillsville United Church of Christ. A reception was held at Bali Hai Supper Club. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. James W. Brooks of Milwaukee. Mr and Mrs. Myron G. Sanders of Marshfield are the groom’s parents.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white gown of embroidered eyelet organza styled with a cathedral train. An illusion veil was held by a modified Juliet-style, eyelet-covered crown trimmed with seed pearls.

Mrs. John Carter, Northville, Mi., was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Karen Maylahn, Milwaukee, and Miss Melissa Sanders, Marshfield. The attendants were attired in pale yellow nylon organza gowns fashioned with velvet boleros. They carried daffodils accented with white hyacinths.

Russell Berg, Marshfield, served as bestman. Ushers were James G. Brooks, New Richmond and Greg Sirna, Milwaukee. Soloist was Kendall Smith accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.

The bride is, a 19678 graduate of Nicolet High School in Milwaukee and a 1971 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire is a special education teacher in the Wisconsin Rapids School System. The groom graduated from Columbus High School in Marshfield in 1967 and from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1971. He is employed in Marshfield.

The newlyweds will live in Wisconsin Rapids following their return from a wedding trip to the Virgin Islands. They plan to make their permanent home in Marshfield in June.
