Henninger, Lottie (19 March 1897 - 23 February 1972)

Funeral services for Mrs. Oswald (Lottie) Henninger, age 74, of Loyal, who died February 23 in Neillsville, were held Saturday, February 26, at 2 p.m. from the Free Methodist Church in Loyal. The Rev. Frank Mutchler officiated and burial was made in the Pine Grove Cemetery. The Roycraft Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Henninger, the former Lottie Smith, was born March 19, 1897, in the Town of Loyal. Her marriage to Oswald Henninger took place December 5, 1917, at Loyal. The Henningers farmed at various places in the Town of Fremont, in the Granton area and in Taylor County before moving to the O. J. Smith farm near Loyal in 1951. They moved to the city of Loyal in 1958. Mr. Henninger died October 11, 1971. Mrs. Henninger, a member of one of Loyal’s pioneer families, was a member of Free Methodist Church.

Survivors include six sons: Harlo of Sheboygan, Oliver of Phoenix, Az., Arleigh of Hayward, Ca, Harold of Hartford, Glenn of Green Bay and Kenneth of Milwaukee; four daughters: Mrs. Philip (Lillian) Weller of Oak Creek, Mrs. Harold (Nita) Henninger of Oakes, N.D.., Mrs. Harlan (Carol) Hughes of Santa Ana, Ca, and Mrs. Jack (Luella) Du Brava of Clarinda, Ia,; and 39 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Vera Roder, of Loyal.

Pallbearers were: Bernard Clouse, Ross Stevens, Everett Kaufman, Dennis Larson, Harold Schlinsog, and Herb Fenner. Sharon Horn sang “Take my Hand Dear Saver” and “Safe in the Arms of Jesus” accompanied by Mrs. Donna Balciar.
